The Health Data Platform is based on world-leading best practices for managing safe access to confidential or sensitive data guided by:

• Legislation
  • Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
• An overarching Privacy Impact Assessment
• A Data Access Framework based on the internationally recognized Five Safes model ​

The Health Data Platform only uses de-identified data that is stripped of any information that could potentially identify individuals. It treats all the data including de-identified data as confidential and sensitive and thus is subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) same as all government information.

By using the Health Data Platform BC, users acknowledge and agree to abide by the conditions stated in the HPDBC Terms of Use document.
